The dates of the inaugural 1^st ANNUAL MEMORIAL OPEN will be May 26^th thru May 29^th, 2000.

The directors and staff, with four years of experience running the HOUSTON HOLIDAY OPEN, will enure a smooth, well run tournament.

The tournament will have eight (8) boards with electronic scoring systems arranged to provide ample room for visualization and socializing. A lounge tent will also be erected in front offering free coffee and soft drinks with music and P.A. system connected to the main bar. The full service kitchen will open Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at 9:00 A.M. serving breakfast, and offering daily lunch specials every day. Menu service is available evenings and throughout the day.

There will be two events each day, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, that will ensure fair competition for all skill levels.

Friday the 26th

Everyone signs up for two events. Event #1 which -1, 0, and 1 rated players will be captains for a draft partner in which the highest 1 rated player drafts 1^st and the lowest -1 rated play drafts last (probably from 2 rated players). The players not drafted will participate in event #2 which is a leftover handicapped blind draw.

Saturday the 27th

There will be will be two (2) bring partner events. Event #3 will be minimum points 0. Event #4 will be handicapped minimum points 5.

Sunday the 28th

There will be two (2) singles events with handicapped entry fees. Event #5 will be for minus 1’s, 0’s, and 1 rated players. Event #6 will be for 2’s, 3’s, and 4 rated players.

Monday the 29th

There will be finishing events, if need, and side/match games.

The Hampton Inn will offer a special rate of $42.75 per Deluxe Room with two double or one king size bed, free deluxe continental breakfast buffet will be included until 10:00 A.M. They will also provide free van transportation to and from Danny’s Sports Bar, which is four miles away, until 10:00 P.M. For reservations call (713) 935-0022.
