St. Patrick's Day has passed and as we wind down the March activity, we head into April Showers and Memorial Day activity! Results are still coming in for the month of March. Indiana News Flash
A local Indiana newspaper reporter is working on an article to be published soon on Larry Creakbaum (Indiana State Hall of Famer, TSA Hall of Famer, and long-time TSA Director and dedicated supporter/promoter of shuffleboard for many many years). The TSA has been providing some history and input to the reporter for this upcoming news article. We'll publish article details and a link to the article (once completed & providing they have an on-line link).

Texas Area Highlights

Champion Open 2006 Banner
The Champion Open 2006 tournament hosted at the VFW in Garland, Texas by Williams Shuffleboard starts this weekend (runs April 1- 9, 2006). If you are planning to attend and have not yet made reservations or pre-registered, you can download the flyer from the website (with two format options for download - (Adobe PDF format or Microsoft word format) and contact the Tournament Directors (to let them know you are coming) and/or contact the Motel for room reservations (Note: If motel listed on the flyer is on standby awaiting cancellations, you might try Ramada Unlimited 1-972-278-5070 where we (Tom & Lynda French) were able to book a room yesterday or search mapquest for a number of other motels in the area):

7th Annual Memorial Day Weekend Tournament

The Texas Open 2006 (Labor Day tournament) will have a flyer coming soon. Tournament will be the same format as last year with exception that the 4-Person Team Draft may be changed to a 6-Person Draft depending upon the number of players registered and this year's flyer will also have a pre-registration form. Last year this tournament was held at Taz Country (which closed on October 1, 2005), so the Texas Open 2006 will be hosted at The Post, Cedar Park, Texas with flyer and details coming soon. Bookmark and check for upcoming information on the "2006 Upcoming Events 2006 Calendar".

Pacific Northwest Area Highlights
 
The 29th Annual Sweethearts Mixed Doubles tournament held February 10-12, 2006 at the Blue Goose Tavern & Red Dog Saloon, Port Orchard, Washington area (owned by Dee Hudson) which we reported on in the last newsletter ... updates... The local cable television network that provided equipment to video interviews and tournament play at this tournament is working on the final production (per phone conversation with Bill Walker).
Upcoming Events & Results from the Pacific Northwest area are still coming in and a number of new items have already been posted (including a recently updated Evergreen Pacific Northwest Tournament Schedule for 2006). One of the major events in Oregon has a venue change too... the long-time Labor Day Tournament held at Steve Fishers clubs in Winston, Oregon is moving to the Eagles Lodge in Medford, Oregon for the Labor Day 2006 tournament (same facility where the 2006 President's Day Tournament was held). Eddie Braymen will be posting the flyer soon. The other long-time tournament in Spokane, Washington will be hosting their 25th Annual Memorial Day tournament (flyer link below).
